Steve what up my guy?

Steve
What up bro! what’s the word?

Marv
All is well bro. How’s the fam?

Steve
Everyone is cool man, still recovering, but we’re making it

Marv
Great bro. Mang a lot has transpired since the last time we talked. First foremost I’m sorry about your lost my dude.

Steve
Yeah, right on.

Marv
I know the readers would want to know how has process of recovering spiritually, mentally, and physically been for you guys?

Steve
Well, from the jump, when everything happened, we were shaken, confused, afraid, etc. but I think it was our faith and understanding of God’s sovereignty that has really been a big help during the healing process. Immediately, you’re hit (mentally) with the “What If’s” the thoughts of “What did we do wrong” or “what could we have done differently” etc. but then you know that God wouldn’t allow this to happen for no reason other than His Glory, and scriptures like Romans 8:28 comes to mind. Overall, it has really been a test of faith and sort of an assurance so to speak to what God is doing in our lives. Though it’s very tough, it has become a little easier to accept.

Steve
Also, the support of God’s people from all over has been a huge factor in our recovery. Like, immediately our city flooded us with support and prayers, Hospital visits. I was in ICU burn unit for nearly a month, but everyday there were hundreds of visitors, people spending nights, making multiple visits throughout the duration of the time I was in there. It was unbelievable. The donations and just the love overall. I mean so many people reached out and were there for us that we knew God had us and had not forsaken us. His love was manifested truly through the hearts of His people.

Marv
Mang I know when I heard of it, I was like wow bro. I know we didn’t know each other but just knowing one of my colleagues went through something like that, I can only imagine pain bro. Mang that same year my oldest nephew drown. A lot happened that year but thru it all God is good.

Steve
Yeah man, God’s goodness and mercy is what has been our strength during this time. That’s a very important thing to understand even thru tragedy; but, like I said, immediately we saw God working on our behalf. From the support of the people, families started coming together, people giving their lives to Jesus, the impact of this whole thing has touched so many lives. Even while I was still in the hospital unable to move around or speak clearly, my prayers were for God to get glory out of this situation, and that has been a big help in getting through this, just knowing that He has a bigger plan.

Marv
Amen bro. What keeps you encourage and motivated?

Steve
Family and friends, Church, reading the Word, and overall my walk with God and trusting Him and where he has us at this time. Not just for me, but my wife as well. I think had this happened any other time in our lives than when it did, we may have probably turned our backs or reverted to other ways of coping.

Marv
I can dig it bruh.

Steve
Yessir.

Marv
I been seeing the pics of new studio. Is it finished?

Steve
Yep! I finished it about 2 months ago just got back to work.

Marv
Ok ok what gear did you go with?

Steve
I upgraded a bit. Im still working with FL Studio and Pro Tools 10 & 11. I upgraded to the Uad Apollo duo, Apogee Big Ben, Krk Rokit 8s, Jbl’s, Avantone mix cubes, Avantone CV-12 (mic), BLA b173 (micpre), Art Pro VLA (compressor)

Marv
That boy ain’t playing lol!

Steve
Man I’m trying lol! got a few more things I wanna get tho

Marv
Mang… I almost forgot How are you guys holding up from the Fergurson situation?

Steve
Its one of those situations where the people want answers and justice. you still got protesting, the protesting has been a lot more peaceful than before, but aside from the Ferguson situation, there has been two more police shootings here since then. For the most part the people are seeking justice and answers as to why these incidents keep occurring that involve police officers killing unarmed young black men.

Marv
It seems very hard to digest as a Believer because one side wanna turn up but then you got to fall back and let God move on the situation. Have you been active in any of the rally’s?

Steve
Right, a lot of mixed feelings on that situation when you look at it from an objective point of view. At the end of the day, a life was taken by an officer of the law in a situation that could have been resolved in a better way than violence and murder. I wasn’t active in any the rally’s. There was so much tension and just a lot going on during that that time when everything was fresh. In my opinion, I think with the amount anger and frustration, the violence, and looting kind of made things more difficult for the protests to really be effective. Media and social media had a huge impact in the rumors and confusion as well. As things began to calm down it has been easier to reach people and protest more peacefully. there have been outreaches, clean up crews, and a lot of ministries involved in helping restore Ferguson since then.

Marv
That’s what’s up bro. What Artist are you working with at the moment?

Steve
Well, just now really getting back into creative mode for real. I’ve been making beats here and there, but as far as working with artists, I’m focused on Clear Sights new artist, Mike Real’s project at the moment.

Marv
Yeah he’s dope.

Steve
Yeah, we got good chemistry in the lab. We’ve been working with each other for a good lil while now, I think around late 2012 we started working. But dude is truly talented and like a visionary when it comes to what he wants to do musically, and we always come out with good music!

Marv
No doubt. What can we expect from you in the future?

Steve
We got some dope records so far on Mike’s project. Looking forward to that. Continuing networking and working with as many artists as I can, consistency and growth in my production.

Marv
Amen Bro! Is there any last words for the readers?

Steve
Amen! Just like to thank everyone for their prayers, those who are familiar with me and my story, as well as those who are just now reading about the tragedy my family and I experienced. Thanks to you bro for checkin with ya boy! God Is Good! Bless you all!

Marv
