Marv

What up Levester how you?

Levester

Man, I am blessed bro.

Marv

I heard that dude. First off tell me who is Levester White?

Levester

Levester White is a man that loves the Lord that makes music for the Kingdom.

Marv

How long have you been saved, wife, kids?

Levester

I have been saved for 11 plus years, and Ive been married for 11 plus with 3 kids.

Marv

Aight, aight. How long have you been producing and engineering?

Levester

Well, I started producing for the Lord in 2000. It began as just a hobby and took off soon after I purchased my first computer. Engineering came a couple years later when I began working with B.L.U.E.

Marv

Who are some of the artist you have worked?

Levester

I began pretty humble. I began working with my church youth choir. Then I began working with B.L.U.E., the warriors, R-Swift, K-Drama, Young Josh, Teddy P, Gauge, J-Johnson, Sound Minds,my group Peculiar Image, Corey Hicks,Demaries ,Briana Carter, Poetic Soilder, Tre Nation.I’m gonna stop there cause I don’t wanna put my whole family on here. lol!

Marv

Ok thats whats up fam. Seeing that you’ve been around for a while, do you think artists are putting out good quality work these days?

Levester

Well, I know any thing produced by Marv4Mobeats is almost a given for the artist! LOL! But honestly, I think the top 10-20 percent of artist that I have heard actually have quality that can be compared to anything in the secular realm. Not that we want to compare, but the truth is the truth. There seems to be an improvement however. Due to big industry budgets, secular artist have the ability to have the best studios, mastering and production. But we are nipping on there heals! Look out world! I want to bring that sound to Christian music.

Marv

What do you think about the Politicians in gospel music. Think it is fair across the board or just for a few?

Levester

I do believe politics are present in gospel music, but only to a certain degree. While it may not be fair, we must remember what ever door God opens for one can no man close anyway. God’s favor can out way the politics that are in gospel which stem from the secular music realm.

Marv

But it can be very frustrating knowing that its like that right?

Levester

Yes it can, but for that reason is why we must remember our purpose and seek ye first the kingdom of God. I have been there before and know how it feel to be looked over. It hurts and is frustrating at the same time. But we must continue to remember our purpose in what we do.

Levester

I choose to not chase the carrot ,but to let God’s favor open doors.

Marv

I feel you bruh. You have a group you are with right?

Levester

Yes! Peculiar Image. We are currently under Just Advocate Management. The same management as R-Swift, Young Josh J-Johnson, Marv4MoBeats (you) and P.I.Productions (my self).

Marv

Now ya’ll been working on a album since the 70’s lol! When is it dropping?

Levester

LOL! I know man, we are releasing our album this fall. But be looking out for other leaks on www.dasouth.com and iTunes leading up to our release of Vertical Glory.

Marv

Ok can’t wait to hear it. Now back to the production. Whats your process when you’re starting a new track?

Levester

I take several different approaches. For starters, solid drums are a must whether I’m laying down a live drum recording or tracking out on reason. Then I move on to my melody. Most hot tracks must have a hook just like a song does. Then I build my supporting sounds like keyboards Rhodes, organs (or)and piano. Synth sounds, and guitars add that aggression. Last I add my bass. I prefer playing live bass over a track but sometimes I’ll lay a synth bass. Bass adds the emotion for me.

Marv

Yeah mang for some reason I have been bass fiend. I got Reason’s Electric Bass refill .It comes with different model of bass guitars it crazy mang. BTW I got Record.

Levester

Oh yeah! I can tell! you are killing your bass tracks!

Marv

Yeah im a catch you dude lol! Before we wrap it up any last words bro?

Levester
