What up Agee!

K. AGEE
Whats good brodie!

Marv
I’m good bro. Settling down for the evening. First off thank you for getting up with me at such a short notice.

K. AGEE
All day bro! I was very excited that you reached out to me. Real Talk!

Marv
No doubt. For those that may not be familiar with you. Can you tell the readers who you are and what you

K. AGEE
Yup! My name is K. Agee producer/artist. I’m from Sacramento, Ca born n raised. I’ve been doing music now for about 3 1/2 years! Also some or many may know of me because of my team Rpsmg.

Marv
Ok… ok… How did you get into production?

K. AGEE
Well…I got out of the military and didn’t know what exactly I wanted to do and I came across a guy at my church, who is now a very close friend of mine, that did music. My mom snitched on me and told this guy I used to make beats in high school lol so I ended up back into and this time I actually took it serious. Its been on and popping ever since!

Marv
Dope! Married? Kids?

K. AGEE
No sir!!! No kids!!! Not married!!! Nada lol! One day though for sure.

Marv
Amen. We talked earlier about how you linked with Brandon. Can you tell the readers who that friendship came about?

K. AGEE
Umm I’ve known Brandon now for about 3 years now. I met him at a church here in Sacramento. We never really had much words to say to each other because there was this competition thing I was dealing with, I won’t speak for him, but we definitely weren’t very close. Then Justin Goss aka JG and him put together a group that JG wanted me apart of but Brandon felt I wasn’t ready. Gave it about a year and they brought me on the team along with Mission and we’ve been getting closer and closer every day. We respect each other. Ask each other for help on different things. Its dope. Dude has really helped me take my production to where it is now.

Marv
You can tell there is a bond with you guys. The music and styles mashes well together. How would you describe your production style?

K. AGEE
My production style?  I would like to say its unique and has depth, yet shows it simplicity.

Marv
Ok… Do you play any instruments?

K. AGEE
I play the drums a little and the piano a little. Nothing fluently at all. Overtime people ask me that and they’re surprised with my response lol.

Marv
Thank God for loop mode lol!

K. AGEE
Sometimes I thank him for that lol!

Marv
What is a day like for you in the studio? How do you approach a new beat you working on? Do you start with a melody or drums…

K. AGEE
It all depends bro. Most times I start with a melody. If I’m making a hiphop joint I always start with drums. Everything else I mostly start with a melody. I never come in the lab with a plan of attack. I just sit in front of the keys and whatever happens happens. Thats the best way I work.

Marv
How is it collabing on beats with other producers? Do you find it to be dope or do you prefer working on your own?

K. AGEE
It can be dope at times but when you’re used to making things on our own its hard to work together. Its hard for me sometimes. Also thats why I feel that some of these CHH producers are gonna be some of the best in the game period cuz they’re killing without a team of beat makers.

Marv
No doubt I forgot to ask can tell readers who are some Artists you’ve worked with?

K. AGEE
Well I’m just getting out there so I’ll say who I’m “working” with right now and also who I’ve worked with lol. I’ve worked with K first, Transparent, Dee Black, Baruhk, KayLa Starks, Erica Mason, Selah Tha Corner, and a few more

Marv
Nice list my dude. What are you using for production?

K. AGEE
I only use Logic for production. Its all I need! I love it!!!

Marv
Sweet. So what can we be expecting from you in the future?

K. AGEE
I’m working on my album which is dropping next year! Its gon be crazy! Its already sounding great man! For the rest of this year I’m just going after placements, continuing to stay active as a producer and get myself out there more.

Marv
Any artist you hoped to work with?

K. AGEE
I would love to work with Thi’sl, Gemstones, NF, Dre Murray, GS

Marv
Definitely gotta make that happen bro. Any last words for the readers?

K. AGEE
If you’re an artist or producer, keep doing what you’re doing. Keep God 1st  and make sure your ambitions don’t become a stronghold in your life. Have a good balance and grind smart.

Marv
Amen bruh. Any shout outs?

K. AGEE
Shout to you for even considering me to be apart of what your doing. That means a lot! Shoutout to my team, Transparent and my homie that taught a lot in a short period of time Tone Jonez.

Marv
No doubt fam. Man thank you for chopping it up with me.

K. AGEE
No doubt bro! Thanks for having me!
