Marv
Fred!!! What up my dude.

Fred
Whats good! I can’t complain at all man.

Marv
No doubt. First I will like to thank you for getting it in with. I been keeping up with you and have been seeing your grind so I know you are busy.

Fred
No doubt! It’s a privilege! I appreciate the opportunity.

Marv
So for those that may not be familiar with you ,please tell readers who you are and what you do.

Fred
Well, my name is Fred Council. I’m from Cleveland Ohio. I’m a musician by trade as well as a music producer, recording artist and indie label owner. Been making music for just about 10 years now in one way or another. So… yeah. thats the long and short of it I guess.

Marv
Married? Kids?

Fred
Oh yeah! Married with 5 beautiful little ones. A true blessing. Daily motivation!

Marv
Amen bro!! Didn’t know you owned a label bro.

Fred
Yeah man. Pardon The Movement! Urban label based out of Cleveland. Got a strong team and things are looking up! God is good!

Marv
Oh ok. I know you were affiliated with Pardon The Movement but didn’t know you owned it. How many artists are on the roster?

Fred
We have 5 on the roster now not including myself. Great group of guys who are constantly creating quality, compelling and relevant music. It’s an honor to lead them for real!

Marv
Are you the only producer?

Fred
No sir! It’s two more guys on the production side of things. Chopz Got Hitz, and Jeremiah beats. these dudes are NUTS!

Marv
Yeah I know Chopz. How do you balance your time between the label and your personal stuff such as, making beats for other artist and family?

Fred
Man! thats a daily challenge that I honestly have yet to fully master. What usually works pretty well for me is setting goals and knowing when to actually stop one thing and move to the next. That’s difficult for me because I honestly LOVE everything that I do. But yeah, its a daily challenge, so I take it a day at a time. I will say that family always wins! Also, having a wife that understands vision and grind is ALWAYS a plus. Love that woman… ok I’m done…

Marv

Man it ain’t nothing like having a wife that understands the grind bro.

Fred
No doubt about it.

Marv
Man I see you have got into creating construction kits, which I’m extremely proud of you for. How did that come about?

Fred
Yeah man and thanks.

Fred
That actually came about through twitter believe it or not. I made a connection with a producer by the name of D-Nice out of new york who offered me an opportunity to get into the sound design/construction kit game. It was always something i was interested in but had no clue how to get involved. So he put me on game and we’ve been running for about a year and a half now. Honestly one of the best moves I’ve been privileged to be apart of. Just in the right place at at the right time.

Marv
Wow did you use kits prior to that?

Fred
You know what, not too much. Every now and then but not constantly. But I always understood their value. Great tools to spark the creative process.

Marv
How do you feel about producers saying “it’s cheating or it’s a lack of creativity as a producer

Fred
Funny you should ask that. I just had this that conversation with a guy I know. In my opinion, any music we hear is an interpretation  of something that producer/artist heard from somewhere else. The construction kit approach is using one interpretation to fuel another. Sharing in the creative.

Marv
I can dig it. And sometimes you just get a block and need that inspiration.

Fred
Absolutely!

Marv
What’s the process when creating the kits?

Fred
For me, I approach it like I’m creating a full record. That way, I give the user the ability to see a full picture. I’ve always been the guy to start with the hook, then break down and fill in the verse/bridge section. Creating kits is the same format for me.

Marv
That’s whats up bro. I gotta ask you is the money good? lol

Fred
LOL! It’s decent man. But like with any other product, platform and marketing play a big part. We’re pretty privileged to have BOTH built in to our situation.

Marv
Wow bro, that’s great. What are you using to make music with these days?

Fred
I’m a Logic Pro X guy all the way now man! I absolutely love it!!!! I got a few synths I’m rocking with. Sylenth and Massive are the primary ones.

Marv
That’s whats up. How can people get in contact with about production and how can they purchase your Construction kits?

Fred
Hit me at FcOnTheBeat@icloud.com and check out the site! FcOnTheBeat.Com

Marv
No doubt any last words for the readers?

Fred
I’ll keep it short.. lol KEEP GOING! Dreams don’t come true unless you put in the work necessary. That’s it man!

Marv
No doubt thx again for talking with me dude.
